Martin R. Steele is the grandson of Mary
Jane Tinneny of Greenock, Scotland and Philadelphia and John P.
McColgan. Marty was born in Philadelphia and raised in
Arkansas. He entered the United States Marine Corps as an
enlisted man and rose to the rank of 3 star general
(Lieutenant General). His final
assignment was Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans, Policies and Operations at
Headquarters Marine Corps.
